One reason. The massive user base of Whatsapp, the mobile chat app, has made facebook to agree to spend $19 billion. That’s 19 times what it spent for Instagram.
Having stated by both, Mark Zuckerberg and Jan Koum, that WhatsApp will continue to operate independently, and promised to continue its policy of no advertising; it would be interesting to see the revenue model unfold.
