A recent study conducted by Global Web Index, suggests that the Indian audience contributes as the fifth largest user base on the social network.
Pinterest has around 70 million users, as of July 2013, according to Semiocast. Although the US is still the highest with 16% of the audience base, this puts the number of Indian users at a value north of around 56 lakh as of today. With a network which is highly suited (as of now), to the fairer sex, brands can look at a better targeted marketing plan to reach out to their audience.
Every social network has its niche audience and an in-depth understanding of these networks will help in more precise targeting and in providing better results to marketing efforts.
For now, we can be sure that Pinterest is going to keep our interest, as it keeps growing at this rate. As the Indian internet audience keeps maturing over the next few years, we will see them adopting new networks.
