Facebook announced last night about a new streamlined look, for Facebook pages, which makes it more convenient and easy to manage.
The first thing they have done, is that they have reduced the clutter of page posts which were, up-until now, on both columns.
On the left column, they have brought up all the information of the page. Remember all those sections you fill in about the hours of operations, the map, the price, et al.? Now all that will be showcased on here, which makes the information more easily available to your page visitors.
While, the right column, will have all your page posts.
They have also introduced a few administrative tools in the ‘This Week’ section, which will be visible on the right side of the page with basic information like ads, likes, post reach and unread notifications and messages.
Now, although these changes are quite welcome and will definitely reduce the clutter. If you notice in the above images, the custom tabs are no longer visible. There is a drop-down menu called ‘More’ and maybe they have put it under there. Since the organic tab visits are fractional compared to timeline visits already, this move will further affect the accessibility of tabs. But, tabs are loved by brands and marketers for its utility and ability to keep the timeline clean.
Well, we should know soon enough as to what Facebook has planned. So watch this space, and as always, drop in your thoughts, questions or opinions in the comments.
